Destined Wings 4 41 Aprilynne Pike Tamani was still for a long moment, then sprang into action as though someone had flipped an on switch. She hated feeling useless. She knew what Yuki had done at the apartment building, what Jamison had done to the trolls. Certainly not long enough for Laurel and Yeardley to revive Jamison and bring him here. Too small to be trolls, but they had guns. I should have realised.

So I have. It also has Tamani, who practically makes up for any faults, but more on that later. I absolutely adored it. Metaphorically speaking, of course. She can be almost ridiculously reckless but at the same time I understand that she does it to protect the people she loves. I would follow that man faerie to the ends of the Earth. I love that about him, and I love the fierce loyalty and the strong sense of love that I can tell he genuinely feels.
He tries to do what he honestly believes to be the right thing. But in Destined, he absolutely grew on me. I actually really grew to love him too in this book. So you can imagine how action-packed it is. I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation at pretty much all times. Some things were stupid. I admit it. Some things were so stupid they actually made me laugh out loud, hence the barely-five-star rating.
Still, overall, I absolutely loved the plot! It kept me entertained and interested, and I was never bored, which always counts for something. Some real decisions need to be made. Writing-wise, obviously. Her writing voice has become absolutely beautiful and I love it so much.
It was heartbreaking in some ways but devastatingly beautiful in others. There were happy endings, there were sad ones. People died, people lived. Just like in life. It was realistic and believable and clearly well thought out. Read more of my reviews on Sparkles and Lightning! Oh my God, and the cover is gor-geous!!!!!!!! And I think that thinking about the blurb is going to kill me.
Destined Wings 4 Aprilynne Pike Tamani pressed his forehead against the chilly windowpane, fighting back a wave of exhaustion. Tonight, he was Fear-gleidhidh twice over. The old word was one he normally wore with pride. But it had a richer meaning, one that went beyond the more traditional Am Fear-faire. Now he played prison warden too.

Plot[ edit ] Beginning from the cliffhanger in the previous book, Yuki is tied up in the salt circle. Klea comes to save her, and Tamani escapes with Laurel back to her house. Shar follows Klea to her hideout, and is killed while obtaining information. David is given Excalibur, as only humans can wield the sword. A battle then ensues, against the trolls. The Fae succeed at first, but then the tables are turned. Tamani, thinking that Laurel is dead though it was Katya he saw , finds Klea, in anger, and is about to kill her when Laurel and the others step in.
